Natural language replaces API contracts. Intent is the unit of communication — not function calls or data structures.

Every participant — human, agent or organisation — has a persistent, portable, verifiable trusted identity. Authentication proves access. Identity proves existence.

A microdomain is a semantic unit: it declares entities it understands, intents it can resolve, policies it enforces. From APIs to meaning.

MicrodomainA semantic unit that owns meaning — it declares entities, intents, policies, knowledge and capabilities. The building block of LaaP.
Semantic NodeA runtime implementation of a microdomain. It enforces identity, policy and knowledge at the edge.
ParticipantAny human, organisation, agent or device with a trusted identity that interacts via the protocol.
Trusted IdentityA persistent, portable, verifiable representation of a participant. Not an account — an identity.
Semantic FederationThe process by which knowledge emerges from the network through schema convergence and entity reconciliation.
LaaP NetworkThe ecosystem of participants, nodes and microdomains operating under the protocol.
IntentA natural language expression of what a participant wants to achieve. The unit of communication in LaaP.
How it works

The flow of meaning.

When a participant expresses an intent, LaaP routes it through a mesh of semantic nodes — each enforcing identity, policy and knowledge before contributing to the response.

Participant expresses intent
A human, agent or system sends a natural language intent. No API contract. No structured payload. Just meaning.

Identity is verified
The Identity Node validates the participant's trusted identity and issues a LaaP JWT. No identity, no participation.

Orchestrator routes to microdomains
The Orchestrator resolves the intent against the semantic registry and routes it to the relevant microdomain node(s).

Policy is enforced at the node
Each semantic node evaluates OPA policies before answering. Data never leaves its domain. Only the answer does.

Knowledge emerges from the network
The Knowledge Graph reconciles entity relationships across nodes. Intelligence is not in one model — it is in the connections.
